Focus Verse: And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 (ESV)
Before starting Breakfast With Tiffani, I would get really nervous thinking about what I would write about. But every time I had those fears, I would hear, “you have everything you need.”
During the preparation stage, I sent an email with a sample devotional to a few of my friends to get their feedback. I knew God had placed it on my heart to start writing devotionals. But the only thing I knew about them was what I had experienced in the ones that I read, or at least that’s what I thought. I received some good suggestions and I was very appreciative of their support!
A few day after I sent the email, I had a conversation with someone. They explained to me that it was very difficult for them to come up with constructive feedback. After praying about what to say, the Holy Spirit instructed her that it wasn’t her place to give any. You see, when God give you something, He wants you to present it in the manner that He gave it to you, untainted by man’s perspective. I was so thankful for this revelation.
After going to God for an understanding of why this was so nerve wrecking for me. He revealed the truth, I was seeking man’s approval. He then informed me that the only way Breakfast With Tiffani will be a blessing to others is for me to surrender it totally to Him, let Him work through me.
In order to make an impact for the Kingdom of God, everything we do must be for the glory of God. We can’t waste our time worrying about who’s going to be accepting. God knows exactly what He is doing. When God places things in your heart, it’s not intended for the approval or acceptance of man. You and your ministry aren’t for everyone. And that’s okay. There are some who will find it a blessing and others will pass it up. But one thing’s for certain, God will be glorified.
Prayer: Father, Thank You for the ministry You have placed in me. I know You have called me to help build Your kingdom. There are times that I am concerned how others will receive what You have given me. Forgive me for wanting the approval of man. Father, as I deliver your message, help me to do so with confidence in knowing that someone will be blessed and You will be glorified. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
