5 Carry On Essentials
Real question, raise your hand if you like to wait? Waiting in line, waiting for people, waiting for God to move on your behalf. Is that something you find pleasure in? If you are anything like me, your answers are, No, No and please come on Jesus! Waiting is just not my thing. This is why whenever possible, I refuse to check a bag when traveling. Listen, I want to maximize all my time and save a coin while doing that. Waiting at a carousel for a bag that I had to pay to check is a hindrance to that. In this post, I will be sharing some tips on how you can pack a carry on to ensure you never have to check a bag ever again.
Roll’em Tight
The tighter you roll your clothes, the more you can fit in the bag. I learned this from my aunt who is a retired flight attendant. I used to stand in amaze at how she could legitimately fit her ENTIRE life in one roller bag.
Additionally, when you are rolling your clothes you MUST be neat. The only way you are going to fit everything in one bag is if you are neat with the way you pack.
Packing Cubes
Now, this is something new to me. I hear they are the bomb, I just haven’t jumped on the bandwagon. @bykriskeys, the creator of a luxury brand that specializes in providing illustrations and travel wear to businesses and people across the world, put us on these. It definitely makes sense that these would work because that same aunt that I mentioned earlier used to pack things in gallon size storage bags. The packing cubes of the 90s. *Update* While scrolling through Youtube, I came across thsese super dope compression packing cubes that allows you to pack even more in your carry on!

Yes to packing light. My fave tip is packing things in things. I do that and it helps!
It definitely does! I have stuff packaged away everywhere.
Planning a trip and I needed to see this because I have a lot of clothes to rock lol! Thanks for this
Roll those joints up real tight and your should be good!
I don’t pack light! I still tend to overpack.. I stopped packing so many shoes.. I only take a pair of sandals, flip flops and I travel in my sneakers
Ma’am, I have seen some out pictures. You pack all the things, lol!
I have been looking at your pics of what you pack, I am definitely keeping this so I can refer back to it! I also am thinking about getting some packing cubes for when we take trips in general…they would be great for my family!

Yes. Everyone with families have always recommended them to me!
Trust me sis I learned about that shoe trip. When I travel especially internationally I try to pack clothes as basic as possible but shoes hold more weight than you know!
That shoe one is not to be played with. Yup, which I why I try to limit them. I’m personally not a shoe person. But I know some are that’s why that shoe one works. If you’re going to take them all at least give them all a job, lol!
But wait….you can use Dr. Bronner’s for toothpaste?!?!?!?!
LEARN ME MORE OF YOUR WAYS, sis!
Lol! Yep, you can use it for toothpaste! It does taste like soap so beware. The peppermint one tastes less soapy and more toothpastey.
I’ve heard some really great things about packing cubes and I still haven’t bought any. I need to get some ASAP.
Listen, THIS!!!! I’m still new to flying (I like to drive) and the carry on kills me. Thank you for this post. Will be coming back for reference
