The Graham Hotel that is.
2019 was swiftly approaching and I couldn’t make a decision on how I wanted to bring in the new year. Obviously, I would start the celebration at church, because, #blessed. But I wasn’t sure what to follow it with. I wasn’t feeling the game night, overpriced NYE dinner “specials”, or any other celebrations I had been accustomed to in the past.
After running through a list of ideas, I settled on a mini Staycation! I called up one of my friends, we packed our bags and headed to The Graham Hotel, a boutique hotel in the Georgetown area of Washington DC.
Now, before I get into it, let me preface this by saying, since I travel so frequently, I’m usually not overly eager to voluntarily spend the night at a hotel. I’d much rather relax in my own home where the germs are common. However, after reading the reviews for The Graham Hotel, I decided to give it a try.
Here’s a few reasons why I’m glad I did!
The hotel is beautiful, it’s in a great location (walking distance from Baked and Wired, my favorite bakery and coffee shop) and the staff is ah-mazing!
Since we went to the 7 pm Watch Night Service at First Baptist Church of Glenarden we didn’t get a chance to really enjoy the hotel to the fullest, that night, due to our late arrival.
Everybody Eats, B!
The next morning we were able to enjoy a cook to order breakfast at The Alex, located on the lower level of the hotel. I was overjoyed to find out that as a Hilton Diamond member, breakfast was complimentary for myself and my guest.
Late Checkout
One of my favorite things about this hotel, outside of the free Breakfast, is that the standard checkout time is at 12 pm. Combine this with a late checkout and you can get a late, late checkout. We ended up checking out at 2:00 pm! Which gave us more time to enjoy the room!
The Staff
As I mentioned earlier, the staff was amazing! Angel and Islam were extremely accommodating made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Angel assisted us during check-in and I was surprised to see him the next morning, alert and very attentive to our needs when we went down for breakfast. Gordon, one of our waiters at breakfast, made certain we had everything we requested. My friend ordered chicken sausage with her omelet for breakfast. Once the food arrived and she reviewed her order, she realized they had left off her sausage. As soon as we informed Gordon, he wasted no time questioning or inquiring about the order. Instead, he went straight to the kitchen to request her sausage. That’s the kind of customer service that makes people want to return! I know I will!
If you are ever visiting the DC area and looking for the perfect place to lay your head for a few days, I would totally encourage you to consider The Graham.
Guess what?!? It looks like Hilton is offering a promotion to help you do just that. If you’re a Hilton Honors member, Hilton is currently running their Points Unlimited Promotion until May 5th. Get 2,000 Bonus Points per stay, plus 10,000 bonus points every 5 stays or 10 nights (whichever comes first). If you’re not a Hilton Honor’s member, sounds to me like you need to become one. As you can see, I had an amazing time bringing in the new year at The Graham Hotel. Now tell me, how did you spend your New Year? Share in the comments below.
Until next time, Pray fervently and travel often!
Per usual, my New Year was brought in serving at Zion Church! Like you Tiffani, I usually try to find something fun to do after but that wasn’t my feel this year! Being toddler free left me with many options but my baby sister and I decided to stay for the after party at church, then headed to my friends house for a FREE game night until about 5am 😂
Yes to FREE anything. I feel like NYE is an excuse to charge people outrageous prices for what they would normally get inexpensively! Thanks for reading!
The Graham sounds like a place I need to be. My New Year’s Eve was LIT! Zion had a bangin after party so I didn’t have to figure out any after plans. Being at church until 3am who would’ve imagined, but it was loads of fun!
Yes, girl. When the weather gets nice we will have to check out their rooftop. Oh, and they have brunch. We can do that now!
Wow! Your NYE experience certainly beat mine. Lol! Traditionally, I attend Watch Service but, our church did not have it, so my husband and I stayed at home and watched the NYE telecast on World Famous Beale Street as the guitar dropped. There was a massive crowd, and everyone looked as though they were having a great time enjoying the entertainment and festive atmosphere. At midnight, my husband gave each other a kiss and called it a night, or should I say, morning. Happy New Year, Tiffani
Lol! Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by for a read!
I haven’t been out for NYE in years. The hubs suggested we go to a party. I wasn’t for going out but I figured we were kid free why not. Needless to say we went out and. Had a great time. The following morning a good friend decide to do a brunch we went there and had a great time meeting people and fellowship.
Sounds like you all had a good time without Carl, lol!
Nice, may have to treat my mom to a staycation here one of these days! Sounds like an awesome way to bring in the NY!
Girl, she would LOVE it! I can see her now all through those people’s hotel, lol! I really enjoyed myself. I think that will be my new New Year tradition.
Seems like you found a gem of a hotel in the Graham. Boutique hotels offer some of the best stays because of the customer service. And looks like they turned it up for you…
I fell asleep before the new year rolled in folks!! I tried so hard to stay up but I was beyond tired. (So not what I used to be)…But to answer your question my New Year’s celebration started at 8:20 am that morning when I was heading to Dillard’s Dept Store. Let’s just say I was able to get my New Year’s turn up on at the Dillard’s New Year’s Day Sale. Happy 2019 Everybody!!!!
I did! Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, lol! DILLARDS! I hate I didn’t get a chance to take advantage of their sale this year. I know you get some good stuff!
The Graham Hotel sounds like an excellent choice for a staycation for residents located in the DMV area. With the great customer service, the modern look of the hotel and close proximity to Georgetown I will definitely look into visiting this hotel in the future. Thanks for sharing!!
Yessss, definitely a place to consider for a staycation. We were able to Uber a couple of places too. The location makes it so convenient to get around. I was considering another Hilton property, but I’m glad I chose this one.
So…. you we’re close to Baked and Wired, but…. ?
Hahahaha! How is it that that’s ALL you got from this post? Yes, I went to Baked and Wired. No, I do not have cupcakes.
You seem to have had a great time. I love the picture of you with the 2019 on the top. So festive and happy. I will surely check this out when we are in DC. The points thing is something I’m going to have to keep in mind.
This hotel sounds great. Hubby has a Hilton status so I will tell him about this spot. Next time we are in DC I hope to check it out. If not for a stay we will dip in for a cocktail (or two) to get a feel of the place.
Looks like it was an amazing NYE! You make me feel old, I was home with my hubby and kitties and a bottle of prosecco, hahaha.
Sounds like an amazing hotel! I intend to come to the us soon, maybe DC, not sure!
I went to a house party for NYE and stayed at my moms.. this hotel looks amazing and so do you lady! I actually have a trip planned so imma definitely check them out
I love a good staycation! The Graham Hotel sounds lovely and I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. I spent my NYE relaxing and working on my brands!
I think I want to do this more during the year not just on New years it’s time for me to self care and check into a hotel for a night. I think every 2 months will be good.
My hubs travels for work to DC a lot and I’ll have to see if he’s ever stayed there. I know it will be at the top of my list if I’m able to travel there with him next time 👍
I could really use a staycation right now in my life and the Graham sounds like an amazing place. The food looks so good.

Georgetown is local for me, but I am always down for a staycation. It sounds like a great way to ring in the new year. I was on the sofa with the family watching the ball drop. Nothing fancy.
I kept my NYE plans low-key and stayed home with a few friends. But it sounds like you had n amazing time!
This looks like you found an amazing spot! My question to you is…was the breakfast as good as it looked? Inquiring minds wanna know!
This sounds like a really nice hotel and a great way to bring in the New Year! Looks like you enjoyed every bit of your stay! I love that “Pray fervently and travel often!”
I love a good staycation. You get to enjoy the accommodations w/o the hassle of travel. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Sounds like you had a great NYE, and The Graham sounds and looks like a nice hotel. My boyfriend surprised me with tickets to a party at the Watergate hotel for NYE, and it was really nice.
I have never been to Washington DC. I would love to stay at this boutique hotel thanks for the review!
