Broken Vision

8 May

Focus Verse: Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2-3

I recently had a dream that all of the sunglasses that I owned were broken. The dream went like this:

I was visiting with a friend at his house. I was playing with his little girl while he was doing some work on the computer. I don’t know why, but I let her play with my sunglasses. After a while, I noticed that my sunglasses were broken. Every last one of them that I owned were destroyed beyond repair. I noticed that one of them even had some noticeable corrosion from water damage.

When I woke up from this dream, I know it was a warning from God. Immediately the Holy Spirit began to share with me the meaning of the dream, this is what He shared:

“Your vision is broken because you allowed children to handle it.”

When I heard that I knew exactly what He was trying to warn me of. Thank God for the Holy Spirit that was sent to be our Helper and guide us to all truth. See John 14:15-17.

The sunglasses represented vision. The little girl represented people who aren’t equipped to handle the vision. No fault of their own, they can’t receive it because it is YOUR vision. Also, the rust on the glasses meant that some people will try to water down your vision if you allow them to. Water can represent cleaning, but it can also represent destruction.

This was a warning directly to me, however, I am confident that I am not the only person that God wants to get this message to. As you read this, there is a situation that is coming to mind that you know must be handled with care. Take heed to the Holy Spirit and proceed with caution.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you so much for caring enough about me to send the Help to guide me. I hear you, Father. Now I ask that you will give me the boldness and courage to handle my vision with care. It is in the might name of Jesus I pray, Amen!

Your vision is broken because you allowed children to handle it. -God Click To Tweet

Instantly

28 Nov

When He ComesFocus Verse: The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 (AMP)

“Worship Me, like I can change your situation instantly.” -God

We serve a God who can do just that. Our current situation, as we know it, can be changed instantly, by just one word from Him. But how many of us actually conduct ourselves in a manner that says we believe that? Do we actually believe that our situation will change? Or have we gotten so accustom to what “is” and have learned to accept it?

I have been guilty of this. “Well God, if this is the way that it’s going to be, I will just have to make the best of it.” Accepting my current state as if it’s my final state, as if there is nothing more in life for me, as if what God said would come to pass won’t and He can’t change it instantly.

Consider Rahab in the book of Joshua. She was not a woman of God, she was an Amorite, a group of idolatrous people. But from her encounters with others, she had heard of God’s mighty work for the Children of Israel. And she had come to believe God was who she had learned He was, see Joshua 2.

Rahab knew that these men represented The Almighty God and if she got connected with them, her situation and the situation of her entire family could change, instantly. And that is indeed what happened in Joshua 6:23 when the Children of Isreal overtook Jericho. Rahab and her entire family were spared during the siege of Jericho. And she later became part of the royal genealogy of Jesus Christ, Matthew 1:5-16

Do you believe your situation will change? That thing that you know God has spoken to you, yet nothing appears the way He said? I want to encourage you today, that you serve a God who can change your situation just like He did for Rahab, instantly.

Prayer: Father, thank You so much for being a loving God. I don’t deserve any of the kindness that You show me. So many times I have gotten so caught up in life, the way it is now. Totally disregarding the fact that You can and will change my situation, forgive me. Thank You for reminding me that I will not always in my current situation. And help me to remember to worship You like You can and will change my situation, instantly. It is in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
