And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 (nkjv)
Every once in a while God throws a wall up. It’s not a closed door or even a stop sign, it’s simply a wall that you are expected to somehow conquer in order to move forward in your quest to obtain the promise He has provided for you at the end of the journey. The thing about the wall is that it seems to be never-ending in length, so you cannot go around it, it’s planted in cement so you cannot go under it, and it’s solid as can be so you cannot go through it; well I guess you have to go over it. The only problem with going over it is that there are no footholds either. At this point, you want to side-eye Jesus and walk away right? Right. But you cannot do that because for some reason, a while ago, you told God that you would follow Him no matter the cost and so now you must make good on your word. You have to go over this wall and it’s going to take everything within you to do so and honestly despite your best efforts you still are not going to make it through on your own. You have to give up, give in, and trust in God in order to make it through.
Think about Moses as he approached Pharaoh in order to receive freedom for the Israelites from Egypt (read Exodus 5-11). Pharaoh was a wall and refused to let the Israelites go, even after several plagues. The craziest part of all is that God sent Moses in to Pharaoh and at the same time He made Pharaoh a wall that could not be overcome simply because Moses was talking. God wanted to know that Moses would be faithful in the pursuit of obtaining that which was set apart by God specifically for him. If Moses had given up simply because Pharaoh continued to say no, the people of Israel may not have been freed and the numerous miracles we saw happen as a result of Moses’ faithfulness would not have occurred.
There are miracles waiting to happen as a result of your faithfulness. Miracles that will only be unleashed because you continued to persevere despite the opposition you receive, the “no’s” people yell at you, the obstacles that threaten to stop you, and the never-ending hindrances that “magically” appear on your path. God has a plan for your life to effect change in the world around you. Yes, the wall is really tall, no you’re not an experienced climber, yes it’s probably going to hurt along the way, and no you do not have to do it all on your own. God is there, He is cheering you along the entire way, catching you when you fall, and helping you through the rougher patches. He’s not the only one watching you either. There is a whole host of Heavenly angels sitting back and watching you, cheering for you, hoping beyond hope that you will not give up because they know what is to come if you do not faint.
Walk in power, climb in might, serve with humility, and conquer that wall!

Loved the reminder that God is with you, cheering you on along the way. Great post!
I’m encouraged, sometimes it gets really hard and one is tempted to ask “God why” but this has really encouraged and boosted my faith. Thanks for sharing.
