Focus verse: For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
Sometimes God had to remind us, who He is and who we are not.
I had been feeling discouraged and because of this, I started to doubt God in my spirit. “Maybe what He said isn’t true. Maybe indeed it won’t happen. Maybe this is it for my life, as I know it. Maybe I should try to work things out my own way or give God a little help. It seems like it’s taking forever. There are so many things that I want in my life that I have yet to accomplish.” Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of Job and his process. Specifically Job 38-42.
After reading about God revealing His Omnipotence to Job, I too had to repent. I was reminded of who God is and who I am not. I was reminded that my thoughts are not His thoughts, nor are our ways the same. I don’t have all the answers. I don’t know what is to come. I don’t have all power in my hands. The world wasn’t formed at my command.
But all of these things are true about God. He has all the answers. He knows what is to come. He indeed has all power in His hands and the world was formed at His command.
Read Job 38-40 and let God remind you exactly who He is.
Prayer: Most powerful God. You are high and lifted up. Seated on the throne. Thank You for being omnipotent. Thank You for Your mighty power. God, I have doubted You and Your ability, please forgive me. As I walk with You, continue to remind me of who You are, just as you did with Job. It is in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
